Page 1 of 3 The Breva V 1100 is made for relaxed unpretentious touring. This sort of pleasure can only be had from riding a machine of legendary reliability, with an unmistakable sound and all the effortless power of an engine that never tires.
The Breva V 1100 incorporates all the versatility and easy riding character of Moto Guzzi’s history-making tourers, re-interpreted in modern key and with the latest technology. The name Breva is taken from the auspicious wind that heralds the arrival of summer at Lake Como, and announces the bike’s vocation for touring in the broadest sense of the word, when the journey is just as important as the destination. Wherever you are aiming, the Breva takes you there in total comfort, pampered by an advanced chassis, a full range of standard equipment, and the latest generation V-Twin with the mighty low rev torque that has always distinguished Moto Guzzi engines. The gearbox is new too, and gives enhanced riding comfort and easier, more precise changes. Moto Guzzi’s new ‘CA.R.C.’ compact reactive shaft drive is there too, as is futuristic instrumentation including an on-board computer. Born to ride. Ridability is the key to the Breva V 1100’s design. The bike’s eclectic character demands that it be quick of the mark and responsive in city traffic, manoeuvrable on winding roads and as stable as a rock on straights. These objectives have been achieved by meticulous development of the chassis and by modification of the frame geometry and suspension. Weight distribution is fundamental to a natural ride. On the Breva perfect weight distribution has been achieved by repositioning the engine higher and further forward. As a result the Breva enters bends like a dream and provides even the tallest riders with a comfortable, ergonomic sitting position. The ultra-rigid frame and swingarm ensure that riders immediately find themselves in complete harmony with the Breva V 1100, whose behaviour is predictable and precise in all conditions. The single member swingarm is damped by a rising rate linkage system and a monoshock with hydraulic preload adjustment for maximum riding comfort and adaptability to all levels of passenger and luggage load. The 45 mm fork is extremely robust too. Responsive, safe stopping power is delivered by two 320 mm floating discs with four piston callipers at the front and a single 282 mm disc with a fixed two parallel piston calliper at the rear. Dialogue with your bike. From the classical front headlight to the rear LED light cluster, the Breva is imbued with original Moto Guzzi spirit interpreted in a modern key. Its beautifully balanced weight distribution and the impression of solidity and reliability is conveys are typically Guzzi. The fact that we are in the 21st century is confirmed by a ‘communicator’ panel with active matrix LCD display designed to accept optional ‘infotainment’ packages. You can even dialogue with your bike through its onboard computer using convenient handgrip controls without having to remove your hands from the handlebars. If you want to make full use of the Breva V 1100’s love of touring, exclusive touring equipment is available. This includes integrated loading system panniers with mounting racks designed to complement the style of the bike and not spoil its looks when the panniers are removed, and a practical, comfort oriented windshield. This effectively deflects turbulence away from your chest, with clear benefits on long journeys and in high speed cruising. For the most demanding riders, ABS will also be available as an option.
